Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hard surfaces

A comeback Medvedev secured his maiden title for over two years with victory over opponent Moutet in the tournament final.

The athlete, a former number one, has endured a challenging year, managing just a single victory at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the New York tournament.

The player's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serve in specific - resulted in him falling of the top ten and ultimately separating with former mentor Gilles Cervara.

Currently collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, he has steadily advanced in the past month - culminating in a hard-fought competitive victory over opponent Moutet.

This marks his maiden trophy after the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface from March of that year.

Victory also signifies he has won twenty-one championships at 21 distinct competitions.

"For the first time I have attended a event with my both daughters at once, so to secure a title is especially meaningful," commented world number 14 the champion.

"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter her name, because the first title I won when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had failed in his last six championship matches, featuring in that event previously this season.

The player's defensive approach and frequent reactions on the playing surface had led commentators to question if his skill to play at the elite level was concluded.

Yet the athlete has made changes in the past month, attempting to approach the net and compete positively, reinforced by an enhanced service.

Medvedev fought back from a break down in the initial set against the challenging opponent, taking 4 of the concluding five games to gain the advantage.

Both players swapped break points in the middle set before Moutet, striving for his initial ATP Tour title, seized the initiative to push for a final set.

Moutet defended 4 early opportunities in a competitive final set before the champion broke to fifteen to secure the win.

Fittingly, Medvedev clinched victory with a point at the net area, with the Frenchman unable to control a volley after a lengthy match.
