Automobiles in Germany's City Discovered Marked with Swastikas in Human Blood, Police Confirm

Police stated they were contacted by a man who discovered a automobile in Hanau covered with reddish liquid

Approximately fifty cars have been smeared with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German town of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to authorities.

Automobiles, exterior walls and postal boxes were marked, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they reported in a official communication.

Police state they were notified during the night on Wednesday night, when a resident noticed that a car in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued fluid.

The substance had been applied in the shape of a banned symbol, they added.

Law enforcement then located multiple other smeared vehicles and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

These symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.

Law enforcement report initial examinations suggest the fluid was likely blood from a person.

"At present there remains no lead as to its origin; authorities are presently not informed of any injuries in connection with the incident," they stated.

Municipal representatives stated they were working "to unravel the incident" and have asked to the public for tips.

A high-ranking political figure stated the vandalism rendered him stunned and had to be resolved promptly.

"This incident affects the center of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the right-wing violent incident half a decade ago," he wrote on social media, recalling the murder of nine people by a assailant focusing on individuals of migrant background in February 2020.
